I was thinking of trying something new and dying my hair over the summer. However, I don't want it to be apparent when the school year starts again. If I highlight my hair at the end of June, will it last up to September?

the highlights VERY slowly fade away (it takes like a year or two to completely go away) but you would probably just have to re dye your hair to its natural color in september because your roots would grow out

They are done with permanent dye so they stay on your hair until you cut the hair off or dye it. However the roots continue to grow at about a rate of 1/4 inch per month-although this may vary depending on your health, diet and genetics.

Yes it should last up to September. Highlighs will actually lighten your actuall hair so it will not go natural again. However they do seem to fade and become not so noticabel, you should always use colour shamppos/conditioners to keep the colour looking 'as new'. Why dont you try just going for a semi-permenant tint? Use the highlighting cap as you would but instead of buying bleach buy a semi-permenant blonde colour and by September it should have surly came out.

If you use a kit highlighter then you can redo them when you need to. They're great value and really work.

If your hair grows fast your roots will be showing by september.....I have blonde highlights and i usually get the roots touche up every three months cause my hair grows fast...but know im letting my natural color grow out...
