Highlights...should I shampoo and condition my hair tonight, or tomorrow morning?

I am getting my hair highlighted tomorrow at 5 p.m.

I am so tired, but think I should wash and condition my hair tonight instead of waiting until tomorrow morning.

Am I correct?

Your hair doesn't have to be "dirty" but doing either first thing tomorrow morning or tonight is better.

The greasier the better, before getting highlights and/or dying your hair. The grease makes the dye settle in better. Usually my hair stylist tells me to not take a shower before my appointment. My hair is always MAGNIFICENT after it's done too. :)

it really doesn't matter---------I have heard them say just leave it dirty till we get it done--------then wash it for you and fix

Well someone had told me before that if your hair is dirty when you go to get your highlights done that the color holds better but this is NOT true my stylist which is a really good one says your hair should be clean when you get it highlighted the color takes better then and after you get it done you should wait before washing it 3 days would be really good if you can wait that long and when you wash you should avoid a smoothing shampoo and conditioner for the first 2 weeks because the strip your color and you should also avoid real hot water for the first few washings -best wishes !

I wouldn't bother - that's what haidressers are for

Because you are only doing highlights, not a full color it doesn't really matter. The only reason not to wash your hair immediately prior to a full color is that it makes your scalp very sensitive. Best of luck.
