Can I use a light blonde hair color to get rid of the yellow tones in my blonde highlights?

I recently used a bleach to highlight my hair and now (the highlights) looks yellowy. My natural color is light/medium brown. I f I apply a light blonde hair color to my whole head, to give my highlights a lighter/beige look, will it drastically lighten my dark hair? Or would a toning shampoo do the job?

You shouldn't use bleach to lighten your hair- it can look white or yellow. Just try to color them light brown, and redo them when you have a chance.

i think you should apply a toner, there are different types like champayne blonde which should take the yellow out, also i have just discovered the most amazing thing to fix damaged hair, i over bleached my hair to the extent it was elasticy at the end and this stuff completly fixed it! ill let u in on the secret, its called clynol id care repar, regenerate intensive collagen treatment, its amazing!!!

If you use a regular blonde color all over your head your dark hair will be much lighter and brassier It will be this brassy orangy strawberry blonde color because medium brown hair has a lot of underlying red/orange/gold pigment. However the highlights will be a beige blonde so the contrast will be very off. Instead what I recommend is that you get a shampoo and colorglaze specifically designed for highlighted blonde hair. Another word of advice for you glaze=toner and toner=glaze but the glaze is better on your hair because it tones and add shine in your hair without peroxide. Try the John Frieda Shampoo COnditioner plus colorglaze platinum to champagne for lighter shades of blonde hair. Your highlights will have the platinum look with these products without using peroxide.
