I have dark brown straight-ish hair, what highlights would work best?

I have straight-ish hair that was originally curly. Years of straightening have tamed it, mostly. My hair is so dark brown people usually mistake it for black, my eyes are really deep brown and I have light, light brown skin. I want to change my hair color, to try something new, but I want something that won't look weird with my other features.

I see red streaks and highlights on most of my friends, so is there anything else I can go with? I want to do something really interesting, all suggestions are welcome and appreciated :)! Thank you!!!

Don't go for total hair coloring rather go for Blonde hair streaking that too crown's head.It will look gud try it.

Be careful. If you start to go golden- it may look really fake.

What about doing a "glaze" and your hair will be really shiny.

I can't quote directly, but from Cosmo(the girl's bible!), they always feature advices on dyeing hair, and the most important is not going more than 2 shades lighter because it'll be unnatural.

Your best advice would be your hairstylist though, because he'll know your hair!

i think u should go for strex of blonde u can even go crazy with colors by mixing colors . but plz dont go with red it wont suit ur features

I would go with a heavy caramel highlighting around your face and through the crown. Choose ONE streak closer to your face, and do a brilliant red of your choice. I have done it for a client of mine when she brought in a picture of Kelly Clarkson. She loved it and got a bazillion complements. And me, I got a whole boat load of new clients!
