my hair is very black, and i want to highlight it something that looks good. im a guy so what wuold the best color be?

Hmmm, I'd say none. Guys w/ highlights??? Kinda femme. Unless you're going for that metrosexual look. Which is fine if you're into that. But black hair is cool. WHy mess w/ perfection?

having very dark black hair you should go to a professional because to lighten any part of that dark of hair can be tricky.

Ash grey(Like my avatar) or ash brown if you want to go extreme but still keeping it safe...but if you want something really cool and different, try this... Be sure to bleach your highlights to light blonde then use a jet-black(Blue black) to cover up your whole head, the highlights will turn out to be ash blue blackish and after a few washes, ash blue... It is very cool..! Cause I just did it to my hair, I had ash grey(Erm, very very light grey) and I just added blue black onto the highlights, and the result is really nice...! Try it out...!

This is only for straight hair: if you're going for an awesome punk/emo kinda look which i think is totally hot, then you should either get red or faded blonde streaks. if you're going for just a normal not too flashy look then you should get brown highlights.
