Dyed my hair at home but can I still get highlights at the salon?

A few months ago, I had my hair highlighted. My hair is a brassy blonde and it was more a platinum shade. Last night, I decided to dye it all one color since I was sick of the contrast between the highlights and the dark roots. My hair came out fine-- it's back to it's natural hair color. But can I still get highlights done at the salon this week? Or should I wait since I just dyed it? Any help would be appreciated.

they say it's better if you wait at least a week but it doesn't really matter if you dye or have it highlights immediately. as long as you have deep conditioning treatment or something to prevent severe drying or damage to your hair.

PS. I also dye my hair often. I also did that before. Had my whole head colored then had highlights the next day. It's ok to do that. don't worry

It really shouldn't be a problem withthe salon- but I don't think it is good for your hair to do so much to it in such a close time period. It'll probably get dried out.

Wait one week between color and highlights and be sure to inform the salon you have colored your hair so they can use a less abrasive bleaching agent. If your hair is dark you may want to go with low lights instead of high lights so the contrast when it grows out isn't so noticeable.

yes just make sure that you tell them what you used so they can make sure they take it easy on your hair and know what to expect when they put the hilights in. They will prob. pull more gold and be a little tougher to get through, but a professional can do it, and they can just use a toner to make it not look orangy-maybe get a conditioning treatment too

next time just have them do the whole process-they can do it at the same time so that it would have been an easier process on your hair
