proabably faint yellow or dark red

Dark hair usually bleaches like a copper/ginger colour because the bleach just cant lift as high as you need it! Maybe you should consider a Quasi colour it lasts for 24 washes and can give really nice tones! As for the caramel if you dont like it you might have to get it colour corrected! You will probably find it very difficult to get the highlights you want unless your salon has a colour called magma (this is what i use to get colours that are difficult to get). All you can do is ask them if they have the products for what you want and go from there!

a warm brown... maybe you could try putting a wash out color in, b/c chances are that it won't show up in your natural hair, only in the highlights.

I had this problem also, I have very dark brown hair and got some tacky results with highlights. Next time you want them done ask for weaved foils and i forget whats its called but they put it in and put you under a hair dryer for like 10 min, its very quick and you get better results.

I have very dark hair and, after MANY years of experimentation, have found that dark auburn gives me a really classic look. Your hair may have high porosity and really "suck up" the color, so you may need to modify development time (less time=darker results).

not really a dark brown, maybe a light one or a brown with some blondish color in it. this happens a lot when you dye your hair, it turns out to be a color you hate!
