What color highlights/lowlights with medium brown hair?

I am thinking about getting my hair highlighted but i dont want to go too crazy. I have medium to dark brown hair. Any suggestions?

Being it's fall I recommend 'lowlights' so I would state any of the following colors would be beautiful in your hair...if you have lighter skin go with darker reds,or a few black and light blond...if you have Olive Skin Tone or darker I recommend dabbling in Dark Purples, bright reds and blue blacks....very pretty!
