Black Hair w/ Highlights?

I have light brown skin and pitch black hair.......i wanna get highlights but idk wat color.......i want brown tones..............no blue or red plz............10 points WILL be awarded to the best answer......thnx :D

Black Hair w/ Highlights?

Try carmel color real softness your hair and brings out more natural colors. I have black her and it even works with my color

Black Hair w/ Highlights?

I think either some caramel color or a darker auburn!

Black Hair w/ Highlights?

I really like Burgundy high lights in dark hair (they do not look red)

You could also go with Carmel high lights they look nice too

Black Hair w/ Highlights?

go with something a few shades lighter than your naturl hair color.

it will be noticeable, but still look more natural than going TO light.

Black Hair w/ Highlights?

bleach blonde will look cute. or maybe a variation of browns.

Black Hair w/ Highlights?

I always though that with black hair, highlights never really worked because it usually makes all of your hair look lighter. Although, one girl I saw with black hair with highlights had almost an auburn like color and I thought it looked really nice

Black Hair w/ Highlights?

what about brown-red highlights. they go nicely with black hair.

Black Hair w/ Highlights?

since u hav black hair, u should either get a darker brown, or like other DARK BROWNS... cuz light brwn to blonde highlights on black hair just makes it look cheap.

Black Hair w/ Highlights?

you are just like me i have the same skin tone but maybe you should go with what you think mis best dont listen to other people say about your hair just remember your beautiful inside and out

Black Hair w/ Highlights?

I always like the way copper looks in black hair. (I used to have them). It looks good but people don't look at you and instantly think, "she dyes her hair". I would stay away from blond highlights, it can look a bit overwhelming. :-)

Black Hair w/ Highlights?

since you have dark hair i say mabe a light brown or a red red looks awsome on dark hair but if you want do do somthin funky don't do a blue or stuff that is not normal hair clor go lighter with the high lites it will give you a crazy look but still cool

Black Hair w/ Highlights?

My friend also has really black hair. She got highlights that were sort of copperish-brown and looked really good.

My older sister has black hair...she go highlights a few months ago that are gold-brown and stand out a bit more than my friend's...so either way you can choose.

Black Hair w/ Highlights?

brown with black is a waste of money go out into the sun n swim more than u will hav natural brown highlights. but try a dark red like burgandy it looks good i had them before but i dyed it back to black cuz it was changing colors but after u dye it looks cool in the sun with like sparks of red.

Black Hair w/ Highlights?

u cud try a dark brownish colour.. i have brown skin n pitch black hair just like urs.. u cud also try bleaching it my frend got it dun n it looks rlly good but if ur hair is super black u might need 2 bleach it twice... in the end its worth it tho!!!

hope i helped

Since you don't want to go with any kind of punk color, your best bet would be multi-tonal highlights ranging from light brown to dark brown. It will add depth and the appearance of volume in your hair. To get a look like this, just visit with your stylist and tell her/him you want several different color tones in your hair, but that they should blend well with what you already have.

Black Hair w/ Highlights?

brown tones would look great on ur avatar. you just need streaks starting from the widow's peak (the little crease that goes from your forehead) and u gotta make it go from there up to about ur shoulders. u could also try light chestnut which is like dark blonde but it will look great becuz ur hair, which is black, can go with a lot of stuff people with other hair colors cant. u actually have an advantage. i highly suggest those brown streaks or the light chestnut color. it will look fantastic. good luck!

Black Hair w/ Highlights?

I would go with a nice caramel color. That is the most conservative choice and classic appearance. But if you want a little punk, maybe dark red or bright pink un the under part of your hair might be cool. It all depends on what you're in to. Good luck!

Black Hair w/ Highlights?

A dark brown, but if i were you, I would stay with the black hair because adding highlights wont look that natural.

Black Hair w/ Highlights?

Well black hair doesn't look good with highlights.

your hair is too dark to get natural looking highlights.

So you should either dye your whole head one color and then do highlights, but i think you would look good, based on your skin tone, with a dark brown type of hair color without highlight.

Black Hair w/ Highlights?

well you should maybe get your hair striped it's natural darkness. So that your brown tones will show up, and look more natural.

make sure you have a perfessional do it, you may cause some kind of damage to your hair, if you try to strip it your self.

good luck.

Black Hair w/ Highlights?

okay..first off, not light tones, don't do any blonde like a ton of other girls do, that's just ugly, i suggest maybe a dark brown, something subtle for sure, unless you are into the whole rock thing, then a deep pink for sure! also, there are tube highlights which are basically just a highlight serum type of thing that you put in yourself, they will last one or two days, then you can wash them out, that way, you can buy any/every color you want and have some diversity...also, you can just ask your stylist what color would be best that will flatter your face the most, she/he will know exactly! good luck!

~Simple but sweet 13

ps, you should really stick with brown tones though, it'll just look the most natural and bring out the natural browns in your hair, you don't want to look foolish so i suggest you have a professional do it for sure, if you really did want to get e little more lighter, go with a caramel shade, but nothing lighter than that! good luck once again!

Black Hair w/ Highlights?

I tried a color perm ( honey blond) that gave me brown highlights. I also one time accidentally mixed a auburn color with a golden blond color and got this brown color that everyone wanted. They thought it was my natural color. It worked for me, but it's pretty much up to you experimenting with different colors.

Black Hair w/ Highlights?

I am just wondering why you want highlights to begin with. I have always loved pitch black hair. I think it is really beautiful just the way it is.

However, if you really just need a change, I would go with cool medium brown. Maybe you should try a semi-permanent color first. That way if you are not happy with it, it will eventually wash out.

The one thing I would suggest is to get it done professionally. I was coloring my hair myself and it really started to break. I had all these little pieces sticking up and it looked terrible. I know that it costs a lot more money to have a salon do it, but to me it is really worth it. You want your hair to look great because that is the one thing you wear everyday. Good luck !

ok i think u shud gt like lite brwn ,caramelish !!

Black Hair w/ Highlights?

I would def. keep it in the brown family. I would suggest asking your stylist to achieve a "chocolate rainbow" look. With multi tonal streaks of browns and caramels. However, make sure that the highlights are med fine to fine and not chunky. After your first highlight appointment the next time you could probably do an allover color application to your regrowth only and it would blend in with your hair. Also, make sure that you use the words suttle to dramatic or maybe sun kissed to communicate just what you want. Because of you skin tone I would steer clear of mucky grey/green tones and lean towards neutral matted true brunette browns etc. Also you wont want to go to brassy/golden either because it'll look silly and fake! These highlight with the right application will deepen color tone and creat a more volumizing look. Consider adding some dimension to your cut if you don't already have some and lighter streaks around your face. Make sure you keep up with uv protectants, trims and conditioning so your hair will stay healthy!

Black Hair w/ Highlights?

It depends what you want your hair to say. For example, if you wanted to be bold, go with a a nice caramel or copper color. Blond tends to be too harsh on darker hair. I f you want to be a little creative and not as standing-outish with your hair, try an Ultra-Violet color like red. An Ultra-Violet color is very noticeable, unless you're in the sun, when it sort of shines. (ask your hairstylist for more.) If you just want your hair to have more dimensions of color, try dark browns or lighter/darker shades of black.

Black Hair w/ Highlights?

try carmel or honey or a spiced auburn try it ! it should look good! good luck!!!!!!!!!!:)

Black Hair w/ Highlights?

I did hair for 2 1/2 years- and before then i learned the hard way on how best to achieve brown highlights without copper or red- . . .never have experienced blue when going lighter-

My suggestion would be to go after ASH. Any "ash" or green color will counteract the red. When you look at an artist's color wheel- the warm colors are opposite the cool. Ash blonde or brown should give you, (depending on the level of highlight you are wanting) the brown tones you're after. Hope it helps and have fun!
